Thousands Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also faced energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 calls for help across the state, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham region - over 175 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28k energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across various areas of both regions.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
